Suspension Brakes Steering

As well as the (far) too wide tyres scraping on the inner guards, there were also some nasty-sounding clunks and vibrations coming from the front end.

Once up on the hoist, it was obvious that there were multiple problems - but nothing very serious.  Radius arm bushes had disintegrated,  (crappy urethane bushes) one lower ball joint was clagged, the brake pads were worn out, and wheel bearings were noisey & rough.  Also some missing split-pins and lockwires.

Here you can see that the LH front bush on the radius arm is non-existent.

And there's not much left of the RH one either.

Outer races of the wheel bearings pitted with rust.  That'll do it.

The new bushes fitted in place.  I couldn't source rubber ones, but hopefully these are better quality that those they replaced.

Steering arms and caliper mounts are now lockwired in place.

I also changed the brake fluid and bled the brakes.  Once the fluid turns this colour, its history.
